Q: What products, updates or innovations are you announcing or launching at RSNA?

Nuance will launch PowerScribe 5.0, the biggest release in the history of the product at RSNA 2007. Version 5.0 combines new architecture, the latest Dragon speech engine, and dozens of new features based on input from our 1000+ customers. The version 5.0 platform also enables integrations with Commissure RadPort and RadCube, providing end to end solutions for diagnostic imaging workflow and communications.

Commissure RadWhere 2.0 will be highlighted, along with updates to both RadPort and RadCube. These updates deliver a tighter integration between the Commissure products, expanding on the data-driven answer to closed loop radiology workflow.

Both PowerScribe and RadWhere will demonstrate integrated workflow with Vocada Veriphy, delivering the most efficient solutions for critical test result management.

The Nuance booth will also showcase our integrations with our 50+ PACS and RIS partners, providing streamlined workflow for the radiologist on a single, integrated desktop.

Q: What are the benefits of using your product? 

The Nuance suite of products provides solutions for the entire diagnostic lifecycle, closing the loop on accurate and timely documentation and communications between medical professionals.

Our decision support solutions for referring clinicians provide appropriateness feedback, improving the utilization of high-cost diagnostic imaging exams.

Our radiologist solutions provide fast, efficient, speech driven documentation workflow, and automated solutions for communicating critical test results, improving patient care and meeting accreditation requirements.

Our administration solutions provide advanced data mining capabilities,  providing utilization statistics, outcomes analysis, and trending patterns that allow you to visualize, analyze and optimize healthcare delivery to each and every patient.

Q: What are you hoping to achieve from this year's RSNA? 

At RSNA 2006 Nuance showcased PowerScribe, the leading dictation and speech recognition solution for radiology. This year Nuance has significantly expanded its solutions for the imaging market. These solutions will be highlighted in the Nuance booth. Our goal is to educate our customers, prospects, and partners on our solutions for order appropriateness and decision support, dictation, speech recognition, radiologist workflow, data mining and outcomes analysis, and how all these solutions integrate together to close the loop within diagnostic imaging workflow.

Q: What key messages do you have for RSNA attendees? 

Nuance has a strong commitment to the imaging market. With the recent acquisitions of Commissure and Vocada, Nuance has significantly expanded it offerings, providing integrated workflow and communications solutions for the entire diagnostic imaging lifecycle. Nuance is the recognized leader in speech technology, and will continue to improve and innovate in this area for our radiology customers. Our customers will benefit from a strong and stable company that is dedicated to providing innovative solutions that combine speech, content and communications.

Q: How do you see the year ahead in clinical and business terms? 

We are very exited for the year ahead, given the recent expansion of our offerings for the imaging market. We look forward to working with our customers and development partners to build the most robust and innovative solutions in the market, and to establish additional development relationships with industry leading institutions. Through these relationships our goal of connecting the brightest minds in radiology and delivering technologically advanced solutions to the radiology community will be achieved.
